Acer Palmatum Shishigashira

Data sheet
Comportamento Vegetativo
Growth

Maple with a particularly slow rate of growth which does not reach great heights and therefore does not need frequent pruning. This plant can be used to make bonsai and is much loved by enthusiasts. With time it may acquire bizarre shapes and it adapts itself well to every space, even in flowerpots.

Fogliame
Foliage

This cultivar has the ability to arrange its leaves in small groups close to the trunk. Leaves are of a classic green color, brighter in spring until in autumn at which point yellow and bronze colors appear as well. The small leaves have rippled edges and tend to curl into themselves.

Terreno
Terrain

To facilitate root growth this cultivar prefers soft, moist and well-drained terrain. Ensure enough water is present in the summer months to prevent desiccating leaves. Frequent flooding, however, especially in heavier terrain unsuited to this plant, is to be avoided as it can lead to fungus and necrosis.

Cura della Pianta
Plant care

Taking care of these plants is the only way to enjoy their beauty and elegance for a long time. Verify the need for an annual disinfestation to be carried out in the spring period (March-April), perform two annual fertilizations in spring and autumn, and perform a pruning in the autumn period (September-October)
